History drinks

History drinks

Since ancient times people were preparing a variety of drinks refreshing, invigorating, whose main task has always been quenching thirst. A few thousand years ago the Egyptians and the Babylonians knew how to prepare drinks like beer and kvass, as evidenced by the extant works in different ways to describe the beverages and their preparation. Similar descriptions are found in Hippocrates, Herodotus and Theophrastus, and later by Dioscorides, Galen.

In China 3000 years ago, cooled fruit juice and drank it as a refreshing drink. Alexander of Macedon during the campaigns in Persia and India consumed fruit juices and snow. Drinks cooled with snow, and enjoyed great success in ancient Rome. Seneca rebuked the Romans in overindulgence fruit drinks!

For many centuries in different parts of the globe, along with the differentiation of culinary traditions to create different drinks, which grew accustomed to the different nations, using them to quench their thirst for spirits and refreshing. So there sherbet in the Middle East, mate in Argentina and Brazil, the tea in China and Japan, and later on the vast territory from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola in the United States and in many other countries, orangeade and sitronady France , citrus juices in Italy, uzvar, Buzau, as well as various sour-milk drinks - fermented boiled milk and yoghurt in Russia, ayran in the steppe and mountain areas of Asia, the chal deserts, as well as the mare, shubat, matsun. khatyk etc.

In the ancient Russian sources called primordial Russian drink cucumber pickle, sauerkraut juice, fruit drinks, kvass, Brusnichnaya water and other berry little water, simple and mead with spices. Little water was a popular drink in Russia for more than one century. This water extracts of berries or fruit, to which was added a little honey or sugar and a miserly amount of vodka (1 tablespoon per 1 liter of water) as a preservative. From ancient Russian drink - hot brose, kvas, Vodice or vodichek - now preserved only kvass.

Very often you can hear a combination of words, national drinks, traditional drinks.
The notion of national or traditional drinks should, apparently, be interpreted as: drinks, which are very popular only among a people or a limited group of people. For example, the small nations living in the foothills of the Himalayas, is preparing a drink Hunza, which includes apricot juice, milk and spring water are mixed in equal numbers. Alleged that it contained all the necessary human material.

In the Andean mountains, the Peruvians, the favorite drink chicha. This beverage was known to the ancient Incas. They thought it a sacred and cooked in a sign of thanksgiving to the gods for good harvest. Now in Peru, chicha is called "golden drink of joy" and refer to it as a panacea, it refreshes, invigorates and possesses nutritive properties. Across the country, grew "Ciceri" where chicha is served in cups, usually with meat or fish pieces. Preparing chicha from corn or red fruit of the tree "mall", or from ground-nuts, rice and some other unknown in our plant. Dishes, which matures drink, pre-greased with mutton fat and vinegar. And in general the process of getting a drink is very complicated.

Some people get used to any drink becomes so intense that this drink seems to become a national of a tradition. For example, the torment of tea in Russia, so get the coffee in Hungary. In recent years, coffee consumption in Hungary has increased. Unlike their neighbors the Yugoslavs, who like Turkish coffee, Hungarians prefer borrowed from Italian coffee maker - espresso, which has now become an indispensable accessory not only cafes and bars, but the offices, staff room, offices, studios, workshops ...

But coffee is not always enjoyed such love. In some countries he is viewed with apprehension. In other die-hard fans are similar to coffee drinks - used chicory, the healing properties of which once were legends, or stems of tomatoes and flowers of dandelion. They say that the drinks from them are not only flavor, but the taste of real coffee.
