You have probably heard about the cocktail "Margarita", it is often shown in movies. It is prepared on the basis of tequila and is one of the summer cocktails. There are several versions of the history of its creation, as so often happens in the preparation of new cocktails. Almost half of small towns in Mexico and South America claim to be called the birthplace of the drink. Nevertheless, three primary versions:

1). In 1938, bartender Carlos Herrera has prepared this drink for the actress Margarita King in a bar in Tijuana.

2). In 1948, Timmy Hilton tried to drink at a villa in Acapulco, owner of the villa was Margarita Sames, as Tommy was, as we know, the owner of the hotel Hilton.

3). In 1936, Danny Negrete prepared a cocktail for his girlfriend Margarita Crespo Hotel in Puebla.

Classic recipe

1 part Tequila

1 part lime juice

0,5 parts Cointreau

A cocktail is prepared either in a shaker with crushed ice, or in a blender with plenty of ice, served chilled in a cocktail glass wide. The edge is decorated with salt or sugar to taste. 

Variations:

"Blue Margarita" - with Blue Curacao liqueur. 

"Peach Margarita" - with peach liqueur.

"Frozen Margarita» - c plenty of ice.
