Rum - the drink of pirates or the elites of society?

Rum was never just a drink.  It is a symbol pirate outlaws, courage bourgeois gloss.  This drink equalizer deck and the captain, slave and master and the common people know.  Who has not dreamed of one day a sip straight from the bottle, rocking on the ship?  But rum has a story, a long, complicated, even bloody.
Rum: history of discovery

The main component of Roma - molasses is produced from sugar cane.  This syrup is distilled to enrich additives and get what we call rum.

Sugarcane is cultivated in Asia for thousands of years before Christ.  From China and India, it was brought to Europe, the Mediterranean Sea.  Hence the Spanish, British and French grew weak sugar cane on its colonies and already there began receiving rums, using different methods of preparation.

Methods for making rum

Rum produced in two ways: industrial and agricultural.

Rums and Functions
